About Us

North Staffs Tyre and Battery was formed in 1973 as an alternative to the more impersonal service offered by the larger national companies selling tyres and exhausts. 

Originally operating as a single tyre and exhaust fitting depot in Newcastle under Lyme, the aim was to provide a local personal service with the emphasis on competitive pricing combined with first class service. 

The company has now grown to three branches within the Stoke-on-Trent area (Newcastle, Longton and Tunstall) and is the largest independent stockist of tyres, exhausts and batteries in North Staffordshire. 

In 1990, the present site in Lightwood Road, Longton was opened and facilities were expanded to accommodate the mechanical side of the business and an MOT Testing Station. The Company name was changed to North Staffs Tyre and Battery Autocare Centres to reflect these changes.

In 2005, the Tunstall Branch also opened it's own MOT Testing Station.

On 1st September 2010, our Newcastle branch moved to a new larger and more prominent location on the A34 Liverpool Road opposite the new Sainsbury's superstore and now offers full MOT Testing.

As well as specialising in Tyres, Exhausts and Batteries, the Company now offers a full range of car servicing, including MOT Testing, suspension, brakes, steering and diagnostics.
